By now, you already know how amazing precast concrete can be. Besides being cost-efficient, durable, and weather and soundproof, precast concrete is also a more accurate, long-lasting and eco-friendly option for concrete walls and fencing. But choosing a design for your HOA’s concrete walls and fencing will more than likely include other factors. For instance, your residents will care about the look of your community, and your concrete wall or fence is the first- if not only- impression your community makes to passers-by. This is why the professionals at Permacast Walls care about the vast array of options when it comes to aesthetics within precast concrete. And what are those options? Actually, they’re as vast as your imagination and we’re here to help you find the right look for your next project.
What is meant by “Form Follows Function” and why does it matter?
This phrase, often heard in reference to architectural design, refers to the purpose of a building. The way the building is constructed should be in line with how it will be used. The building’s purpose, in essence, should be the starting point for the design. This concept was first proposed by Louis Sullivan (1856-1924) in his Chicago-based architectural firm and was generally applied to all things architectural for many years. Until, that is, a young employee of Sullivan’s named Frank Lloyd Wright revised the axiom to say “Form and function are one.” His vision and construction of the Guggenheim Museum is a primary example of this idea.

As we already know, precast concrete is an efficient, cost-effective way to create multiple building elements. Since the materials are made in a factory or casting yard, many variables like weather, time, and space can be controlled. This means more accuracy and less guess-work when it comes to a building project. However, have you considered other ways precast concrete can be used to further a project and create quality components quickly? At Permacast Precast Concrete Fencing & Walls, we see the possibilities and want to help you see them, too.

Permacast Precast Concrete Fencing and Walls will break it down for you.
As we noted in our last post about precast concrete strength, curing it on site in the factory is the key to quality control. And in that quality control, we're looking to preserve the material's strength and longevity above all else. The compressive strength of... View More
The short answer is, strong. But why is precast stronger than other forms of concrete?
