Fairlie-Poplar Historic Districts

While many large cities have a fun downtown and charming historic district, Atlanta’s Fairlie-Poplar Historic District is certainly a draw with its fine Victorian architecture, performing arts culture, and vibrant street art on every corner. Standing 11 stories tall and constructed five years prior to the one in New York City, the Flatiron Building is credited as one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Fairlie-Poplar is also home to The Blazer Theater at Herren’s and other live performance venues, including the Rialto Center for the Arts and The Tabernacle. Here, you can enjoy everything from independent plays to jazz and world music and attend hit concerts. While discovering Atlanta’s historic district, or after a jaw-dropping performance, you do not want to miss out on the highly underrated, locally-owned restaurants.
